The Pre-orders Continue to Roll In

Well, the pre-orders are still coming in fast and furious.  According to Apple's website, iPhone 4 pre-orders made now won't actually arrive until July 14.  That means they're already through the 2nd production run, and onto selling the third via pre-order.

Still no official news regarding the white one we so crave.  Other news aggregators have picked up on a customer report of an August release.  This, as reported in an earlier entry here, came from a Best Buy employee.  While I initially questioned the credibility of the information, it seems more credible now that Apple's deadline is bumped back.

This of course is because the black iPhone is still available for pre-order, even though it will now currently ship in mid-July.  If the white iPhone were available around then, it would stand to reason to start allowing pre-orders.  So August is starting to look much more likely.  I'll be keeping on top of the news as it comes in to try to get a more solid grasp on the situation.

Will there be a few in retail stores on the 24th, or on subsequent dates?  We don't know yet.  Again, I'll keep my eye out for news, as some of our posters and other websites are speculating that as a possibility.  But, when it really comes down to it, this seems unlikely.

So now the question becomes, what will we do in the meantime?  If you saw my earlier post regarding pre-ordering a black one and then selling it to get a white one, that's an option.  Otherwise, we'll just have to amuse ourselves speculating, planning, dreaming, and reading reviews and news.  I've got some great ideas up my sleve for how we can pass the time while not losing our excitement.  More on that later.

Cheers, white iPhoneers.  Looks like we might be in for a long summer.
