No News From Apple on White iPhone 4, Launch Day Closing In

Well, as you've probably seen in previous posts, I expected that Apple would make some sort of precautionary announcment regarding availability of the white iPhone 4, soon enough to stop people from getting in line for it.  So far, they've proven me wrong.

With people starting to line up in larger numbers all over the country, those of us expecting news from Apple regarding the white iPhone 4 have heard nothing but silence.  As 5:00 p.m. rolls around, and people get off work to head over for an all-night wait outside an Apple store, things will start to get real.  Apple, notorious for its distaste for publishing bad news, has not released any information regarding the availability of the white iPhone 4.

Third-party retailer Best Buy has already told its customers that the white iPhone 4 won't be available in its stores at launch.  AT&T gave up the ghost long ago.  Apple, however, remains obstinate.  Will they have one at launch?  It seems exceedingly unlikely.  Will that stop all of us from trying anyway?  Probably not, unless Apple says something.  Get ready for a storm of tired, jilted line-standers, because that's where it looks like we're headed.

Are you waiting in line for white?  Comment and vote in our poll!
